Sunflower Post

Below is John Fridinger’s most recent post that is still extant in the Unofficial HCR Discussion Group… It may not be there for much longer.. Here is a link to it https://www.facebook.com/groups/HCRresource/permalink/1192442901613325 . If you are into scrolling a bit, either there or below, see the very last comment as of this writing, made by Bec Kemp on June 28, the same day she posted her QR code post on her own page, inviting all her friends and followers to join “HER” group…

This was also just about the same time Bec Kemp started removing posts, comments and members from the group… Actions that I could not allow, for the most part reversed, and which set the stage for the confrontation that followed…

It has been suggested by several people now that it was this post that finally made Bec Kemp “jealous” enough to cause her to do the hostile takeover…

No “knowing,” of course, but the timing of all her various actions that followed almost immediately after this post was made and it begun to receive a huge amount of positive response, not the mention Bec Kemp‘s very own first ever(!) comment in the history of the group currently (as I write) at the end of it (that in at least some ways seems to be a rather infantile attempt to ingratiate herself), and after all her deafening silence the whole previous time of the group’s existence, also seems to suggest it…

THE POST… (not formatted the same of course)

John Fridinger
June 25 at 10:21 AM

If our own Unofficial HCR group is any indication at all, it may be there is a huge and unprecedented upwelling of concern, along with some strongly escalating interests in taking real action, on the grass roots level…

For a over a year now our group has been growing by around 600-800 members a month, though more like 900 to a thousand in recent months…

Since the SCOTUS Roe v Wade ruling, just 24 hours ago as I begin this, around 200 new members have joined our group… Applications to join continue at a similar pace…

Each individual applicant’s public page always gets checked out by an admin or moderator before being approved, to filter out trouble makers… As a result we also get a sort of wider angle snapshot view of some of the diversity of our group… What we are seeing suggests that some hopeful activism is arising in more and more diverse ways, all across the country…

In our group most of all we want to promote discussion between members, as well as inform each other with unusual or under reported perspectives, activities, understandings, critiques, challenging ideas, analyses, and information, while at the same time not swamp people’s feeds with to many posts…

All the while that we are trying to nudge connections, interconnections, shared actions and awareness into some larger and larger dimensions and perhaps even more directions, so to speak…

More and more local actions and activities, connected more and more nationally and globally… Our group is not about organizing, per se… That is for other better suited organizations that we can support… Instead, we are about encouraging, informing, connecting, learning, and energizing with and through each other…

We want our members, when they see a post from our group in their feed, to be curious, rather than overwhelmed…

Part of the way FB works is to let people know (at least sometimes) when another comment is made on a post they have also commented on… So we want to try to draw each other into commenting in more collected ways under well considered, select posts… And not just to learn and inform, though that is really important, but also as a way to begin to feel connected…

How might we, so many diverse people, life experiences and perspectives, from all over the country, become part of something in concert, more and more…?

Informed by the collective that we also are, rather than top-down patriarchal authoritarian autocratic hierarchies..

Slowly… All the while trusting it is also happening in other ways, and other places and venues… More and more…

Like an orchestra, so many different instruments, people, skill levels, understandings, and yet amazing symphonies occur…

Though in this case maybe more like jazz, jamming, together, no specific leader, all of us following each other’s lead, awareness awakening and moving around, through and amongst us… Following that awareness…

The music of democracy…

Just playing with words here…  😊
